    Standards
    Forms
    Uniform Facts
1. Uniforms - Wearing of Pins: Where do all those pins go? What order? See photo for Class A, they would be the same for Class B (remember with Class B you do not wear a tie). Don't worry if you don't have a whistle chain or citation pins, Crossed Sabers always at the top. Wear your highest VIP Presidential pin, Bronze, Silver or Gold!!  Remember, if possible call your mentor 1st about questions, rather than Margaret. If you really need to and can't reach your mentor or your mentor does not know the answer, then please call or email questions.

2. Flags: Order of display and precedence:

Ceremonies & Parades: Per Department of Defense Directive 1005.8 the order of precedence for flags at events and ceremonies is as follows [The Merchant Marine, Vietnam Veterans, and POW/MIA flags can be displayed following the military flags (order of those three together depends on event)]:
  • United States
  • State
  • Army
  • Marine
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Coast Guard (except at time of War....goes in front of Air Force)
  • POW/MIA
  • Other remaining flags

Flagpole: Army Regulation 840-10 2-2.c The POW/MIA flag will be flown beneath the flag of the United States on Armed Forces Day, the third Saturday in May; Memorial Day, the last Monday in May; Flag Day, June 14; Independence Day, July 4; National POW/MIA Day; Veterans Day, November 11 and on occasions when the installation is hosting POW/MIA activities. The Retiree flag may be flown on Veterans Day or occasions when the installation is sponsoring activities for retirees such as open house or retiree day. Not more than one flag will be displayed below the flag of the United States and, if displayed, will be approximately 6 inches below the flag of the United States."
