The
Pasco County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse (PCSMP) is a private
organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida to
provide mounted assistance to the Sheriff’s Office for search and rescue
operations and a wide range of special events. The Pasco
Sheriff’s Office has two mounted units -- the Pasco Sheriff’s Office
Mounted Unit comprised of sworn deputies and the Pasco County Sheriff’s
Mounted Posse. The Posse is comprised of civilian volunteers. All the
members of the Posse supply their own mounts and donate their time to
provide services that benefit our community. Posse members,
both horse and rider, participate in challenging drills and training
exercises that increase rider and mount partnership and prepare the team
to safely participate in public functions.
